Figurative Expression

Being forced to analytically reflect on my personality and the person I have grown to become made me realize that I’m high-spirited, inquisitive, slightly deranged and extremely organized. A very interesting mix. The process of coming up with familiar elements that best described me was challenging. The task of combining these elements to create a simple, yet unique icon proved to be spiritual experience.

The concept of combining unlike elements in the design process is a excellent way to convey expressions that couldn’t be achieved if the elements separated. It helps in translating ideas and feeling that are personal to the designer. I am satisfied with the results of my hybrid image, as it truly depicts key elements of my personality. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s a self-portrait but I do see qualities of myself present in it.

Visually I see the icon floating in pieces from the bottom of the frame to the middle where the circles will pop creating a burst. The final circles that create little eyes will blink a few times and pop into nothingness. The sounds I intend to use will be non-digetic with the use of a little object movement and volume dynamics.

The End! :)
